Poor Deer...

The poor little Christmas Deer that lives at our house

finds himself in this position more often than not these days...

How does it happen

that this poor deer can't seem to keep it together?!

Whhhell now ~ let me tell you

He starts out every day looking like this.

And ends every day looking like this.

Happily minding his own business,

keeping guard over the small Christmas tree

perched atop the treadle sewing machine for the season...

It happens to be one of the jobs I painted him for...

way back when water was almost new...

These day's he has another job...

That job is to entertain and delight her.
And oh he does it well!
This is how the relationship started out...

What stared out as helping to put him together,
quickly turned into taking him apart...

Oh well...
Tis the Season...
And after all...
The little Deer does help keep the little Dear
Happy!
And today he learned another job...
Being a Horsey...
though he is a little hard to ride.
