My Sweater...

Is finished at last!!
It isn't a hard pattern or even one that should have taken me the year it did to make it.
In my own defence...I did set this one aside to complete lots and lots of other things.
Once Christmas was passed it was time to work on 'me' things for a bit.

I found the pattern years ago in a very old, new, book that I found at a second hand store.

I made one following the pattern and my sister's liked it, so I let them take the pattern and they did it exactly the same only a little bit different...they made theirs wider and a little longer. I liked it better and then promptly procrastinated doing another one. Then the need arose last year and I didn't have what I needed.

Now I do.

 Here is the finished sweater:

It is sewn from the wrist to just about the elbow on each side.
Now, I can read our bed time stories during the Winter months when the cold seems to seep through the walls and around my shoulders, without complaint.  It will even come in handy on evenings we sit out longer on the patio during the summer.

Smile and remember;
We're fool's whether we dance or not. So we might as well dnce.

I have been trying to find out if the magazine is still published and found this;

So if anyone is interested in the pattern please let me know and I will 'share it' with you.

  1. Chère Missy, your sweater looks snuggly sweet. Wish I could make things like this. Who made the quilt in that same photo?

  2. Thanks Kristi, The quilt was handmade by my husbands great grand mother-it was found ticked away and given to me last year and I love it!!
